Testing
Performance results presented here are based on laboratory filtration and
microbiological tests using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis.
These tests were conducted at the University of Wisconsin and at Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University. Field tests reported here were
conducted at Encelle Corp. N.C. and were conducted by Encelle personal.

Bactericidal Effects
Conventional filters
can often become a breeding ground for bacteria. Biocides on filters are only
effective as long as the filters are clean. Bacteria can grow through
conventional filters and start shedding into the room. The BIO PLUS®
filter system, however, continuously kills the bacteria caught on the filters by
means of ion bombardment, as demonstrated by the tests summarized in Table I:
